Bagasao Children’s Prayer Club: Columbia
From the Bagasao Children:
Every week we learn about a different country or group of people needing prayer. We study their situation and then pray for them throughout the week.
Please join us in prayer for the Columbians.
The country and people:
Columbia is in South America. It is bigger than Texas and smaller than Alaska in area. The capitol city is Bogota’. The population is over 42 million. Their chief exports are oil, coal, coffee, emeralds, and bananas. The country is rich in gold, platinum and emeralds. Columbians speak Spanish and are generally very nice, cheerful people, believe it or not. Many of the Columbians are starving and live in dirty, crowded slums. Many of them are addicted to drugs or are in prison. There are some Christian organizations helping the children whose parents are in prison or on drugs. There are people in Columbia called guerrillas who will attack villages, kidnap people, and steal food. Guerrillas are warriors who are not part of a regular army. They are atheists (believe there is no God) and communists. They want to take over the government. Paramilitary forces are trying to keep power away from the guerillas. The Columbian army fights against both groups. People think that violence is a part of life in Columbia, and in many cases, this is true. Read the rest of this entry »
Bagasao Children’s Prayer Club: Ethiopia
From the Bagasao Children:
Every week we learn about a different country or group of people needing prayer. We study their situation and then pray for them throughout the week.
Please join us in prayer for the Ethiopians.
Ethiopia is in eastern Africa. The people in Ethiopia are very, very poor. They have droughts and famines which cause starvation. There are a lot of annoying flies, and the people don’t have houses like ours, so they cannot keep the flies out. Very few children go to school. There was a civil war and many Ethiopians left the country. At the same time, refugees from Sudan and Somalia came to Ethiopia while trying to escape their own wars, but their lives did not get any better. The population of people in Ethiopia is 62,564,875, which is a lot of people. Read the rest of this entry »
Meet the Bagasaos!

Bagasao Family August 23, 2008
Take a glimpse through my eyes into the world of the Bagasao family.
We are a Christian homeschooling family of eight. Our five daughters are the apple of their daddy’s eye, and our one son is a man in the making! My husband Stephen is a Christian contemporary musician whose Nashville-produced album Abandon launched our music ministry in 2007. I keep busy at home teaching, training, and tending my many blessings. I am also writing an ebook (among other things) to help others halve their grocery budgets as we have done over the years.
Check back often to receive updates on Stephen’s music and my books, hear about our homeschool antics, read about our walk of faith, learn money-saving tactics, and share in the blessings and togetherness of the Bagasao family.
God’s grace be with you!
