Children’s Prayer Club: Guinea-Bissau

Author: Hannah

From the children:

Every week we learn about a different culture or people group needing prayer. We study their situation and pray for them throughout the week.

Please join us in prayer for the people of Guinea-Bissau.

Baptism in Guinea-Bissau

The country:

Guinea-Bissau is a tiny little country in West Africa and is one of the poorest countries in the world. It is only 14,000 sq miles with a population of 1,179,000. They grow peanuts, cotton, and cashews.

Their faith:

In 1998 the army rebelled against the government and war broke out. Many people had to leave Guinea-Bissau. Christians took in the people of Guinea-Bissau and many of the refugees became Christians. Christians are now translating the Bible into the languages of Guinea-Bissau.

Please pray:

Hannah prays that the people of Guinea-Bissau will continue to trust in Jesus and will tell their friends about him and that the leaders of the country will rule wisely. Marissa prays that Missionaries will be sent to Guinea-Bissau and that Christian people will tell others about Jesus. Elisabeth prays that the Guinea-Bissau learn to read. Emily prays that the Guinea-Bissau people who aren’t Christians will learn about Jesus. Elijah asks that God will please give the children more Bibles.

Thank you,

Hannah, Marissa, Elisabeth, Emily, and Elijah Bagasao

I Timothy 2: 1, 3: I urge then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for everyone. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
