Bagasao Children’s Prayer Club: Druzes
From the Bagasao children:
Every week we learn about a different country or a group of people needing prayer. We study their situation and then pray for them throughout the week.
Please join us in prayer for the Druzes.
The Druzes live in and around Israel, Lebanon, Syria and Jordan. They are mostly farmers that grow olive groves, cherry and apple orchards, and vegetables in their carefully tended gardens. They work hard and are trustworthy. They watch out for and help strangers.
The Druzes have a secret religion. Only the “Knowledgeable Ones” can know their religion and can read their “Book of Wisdom,” the Druzes scriptures. The Knowledgeable Ones cannot drink wine or smoke or eat stolen food. (No one should eat stolen food.) If you’re not a Knowledgeable One you are an “Ignorant One” who only knows some parts of the religion. Their religion must stay a secret. They are very honest and must always speak the truth. They think that when they die, their spirit goes into a newborn Druze body. You can only become a Druze by being born into it. They are waiting for Al Hakim to come back because he is the founder of their religion and they want him to come and be their savior.
Please pray that they stop thinking they will be reborn as babies. Please pray that they stop keeping a secret religion so that people can help them with the Gospel. Thank God for the Christian orphanages and schools established there which some Druze attend. Please pray that they learn that our loving God wants all people to be saved, which is why we share the promises of the Savior with all people. Elijah says to ask God to “Pease hep da chiwdwen haf mo Bibows.” (Please help the children to have more Bibles.)
